We are very happy to announce that we have been granted a diversity, inclusion and equity grant by the Office of Health and Medical Education Scholarship of the university of Calgary. Our aim is to better understand whether gender effects exist in contextual factors in the working and learning environment on the welbeing of doctors. Such factors could be individual factors, cultural and organisational factors, conflicts between work and private life and stigmatization of mental health problems.
The project consists of multiple steps:
Step 1: Evaluation of physicians’ well-being on team level using the WellNext Scan.
Step 2: Supporting teams in strategically discussing the WellNext Scan report and working towards improving the learning and working environment.
Step 3: Understanding the perceived mental health stigma among residents, clinical assistants and staff using audio journaling.
