Benny van Lier

Benny obtained his master’s degree in Medicine in February 2021. During his master’s thesis, he researched burnout complaints among residents during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since March 2021, he has worked as a psychiatry resident (not in training) in the acute department of the Mentrum clinic on the 1st Constantijn Huygensraat, and from the first of April 2022, he is working as a psychiatry resident in Rijnstate.

Since October 2021, he started as a junior researcher within the research group of professional performance to start his Ph.D. research ‘The vitality project.’ It concerns a study to improve the vitality and working conditions of the resident population through a coaching process based on a brain game. He is interested in the quality of life, vitality, and well-being of both patients and doctors.
